On the day of their first date, Megan was working as an EMT in Boston and running very late to meet DJ at Patriot Place. She had no idea he planned to take her to Chelo’s Waterfront- almost 45 minutes away. The longer they drove, the more convinced she became she was about to end up on an episode of Dateline. Just in case, she dropped a pin and shared her location with her best friend. Spoiler alert: DJ was not a serial killer- and the date ended up being perfect.

Their first vacation together: Disney, of course. Nothing says new love like matching ears, Mickey waffles, and sweating through Magic Kingdom in June.

A classic New England summer night- Megan and DJ went to their first WaterFire in Providence. It was beautiful, romantic… and Megan treated herself to the biggest éclair known to man.

They swam with dolphins during a trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas. DJ grinned the whole time, the dolphin did tricks, and it was a solid 10/10.

DJ took Megan to her first NASCAR race at Loudon. After watching cars drive in circles for hours in the sweltering heat, Megan made one thing clear: never again.

A proud moment in their relationship- Megan successfully convinced DJ to dress up as a dragon for Halloween.

Their first Patriots game together: cheering for Tom Brady, freezing their toes off, and confirming that yes, he really is the GOAT.

A Miami vacation full of sunshine, palm trees- and one disastrous flight where Megan got sick while DJ calmly played a game on his iPad like nothing was happening. (Classic.)

They attended the Armstrong Ambulance anniversary party- an unforgettable night that officially sealed AJ and DJ’s bromance.

Their first 5K together: Finish at the 50 at Gillette Stadium. Between the summer heat and the stadium ramps, it was more intense than expected- but totally worth it for that finish line moment on the 50-yard line.

Megan ran the Disney Marathon with her cousin Krystine and best friend Brooke as Team Scott’s Fighting Irish, supporting her dad, Scott, in his fight against leukemia. Together they raised nearly $10,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With DJ and her family cheering from the sidelines, it was an emotional day filled with Disney characters, lots of love, and a whole lot of heart.

They bought their first home in Putnam, CT- on Halloween, of course.

They joined their first of several volunteer fire departments together. Few couples have matching pagers, bunker gear, and late-night tone drops- but these two do.

They welcomed their first fur baby, Maverick- a snuggly, laid-back Charmin bear with a little nub for a tail and a deep devotion to Megan. Always down for couch cuddles and snacks, he instantly became part of the family.

They moved into their forever home in Brooklyn, CT. More space, more quiet, more room for dogs.

Became Auntie Meg and Uncle DJ when baby Joey was born- one of their favorite titles yet.

DJ finally got the “killer” dog he always wanted. Milly is 6 pounds of pure sass and chaos, and has made it her full-time job to terrorize her big brother Maverick.

They celebrated 10 years together with a cruise to Bermuda- complete with a catamaran adventure and lots of rum swizzles.

On Christmas Eve, as they were getting ready to head out, DJ completely surprised Megan by proposing. Her exact response? "Are you *bleeping* kidding me?!” Then, of course- she said yes.
